Welcome to 6 Days on the Road!

I’m Robin, and I’ve been a traveler all my life. I created 6 Days on the Road as a place to share my favorite travel experiences along with occasional tips for navigating around the United States.

Morning coffee in Los Angeles is my favorite.

In addition to being a traveler, I’m a writer (and this is currently my source of income, thanks to tariff-related layoffs). When I’m not writing about the joys of being a stranger in a strange land, I’m editing my passion project: a book about the year I spent chasing the spirit of American icon Woody Guthrie around the country. I’m also a poet, sometimes. Or so they tell me. For many years I worked as a chef in addition to my careers in journalism and corporate copywriting. I’m two years into being an empty nester with my kid off to art school in Kansas City.

This is Woody. He stages lots of protests in the Wheeled Box of Sadness.
