A Playlist for Your Late Summer Escape
Every good evasion deserves a pumped up soundtrack
Hey Big Spenders!
As I mentioned earlier this week and last, I’ve been in a funk. Hopefully, it’ll be fixed tomorrow when I have a talk with my doctor about how, for some people (me), more is better when it comes to Cymbalta.
That said, it’s not a sad playlist. You’ll likely never get a sad playlist from me. Angry? Absolutely. But as I was recently telling CJ, my brand of neurodiversity feeds on loud music with faster tempos. Still, it seems that some of my choices concerned Apple Music, because I got this message while making the list:
I mean, it might be in the top five of the peppiest Neko Case songs, even. At any rate, I’m glad the bots are looking out for me.
In truth, I think that, for the most part, this is a pretty fun, rollicking collection of slightly occasionally travel-referencing songs that I’ll feel like cranking up and howling along with while driving part of the Pacific Coast Highway next week. I kept it at just over an hour, though, so maybe it’ll be just right for that last commute before Labor Day weekend. There are quite a few covers, and songs from Bonnie Whitmore and Adeem the Artist, whom I met in Oklahoma last month. There’s not a drowsy song in the bunch, so crank it when you need to be alert for those last 80 or so miles.
The lists are on Spotify and Apple Music, made just for y’all to thank you for your support.
I’m fine. Really.

I guess Apple Music gets points for bot concern. Spotify would have just sent you down a darker rabbit-hole complete with AI-generated mood slop...
